Stephen Minister Trainers Commissioned

A new ministry has been started at Arcadia Community Church called Stephen Ministry. This is a ministry within the congregation in which trained and supervised laypeople, called Stephen Ministers, provide one-to-one Christian care to individuals facing life challenges.

Four people were commissioned on Sunday March 12, 2023 as Stephen Minister Trainers. They will train and supervise the Stephen Ministers. Pastor Larry Ballenger, Rosemary Allen, Mark Pocino, and Kimberley Scholte took ten weeks of training to become Stephen Ministry trainers. Over the next few weeks they will be actively recruiting people to take their training and become Stephen Minister's.

Their training will help those who feel called to this important ministry to offer care by assist those who are working through a difficult time in life. This is done through listening, with an understanding heart, and offering acceptance and prayer.
